Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure (CVD) Policy

Responsible disclosure.
Uncompromising defense.

This policy governs how BreachModal conducts coordinated vulnerability disclosure with technology vendors, distributes immediate defensive telemetry to our customers, and provides a clear, legally protected Safe Harbor for independent security researchers reporting flaws to our team.

Standard Remediation SLA: 120 Days
Active 0-Day / Regression SLA: 30 Days
Standards Alignment: ISO/IEC 29147 & 30111
Last Updated: October 2026

120 Days

Predictable window for product vendors to engineer, test, and release production security patches.

5 Business Days

Initial vendor response SLA before systematic escalation to senior leadership and national CERTs.

30 Days

Accelerated emergency timeline for critical regressions or flaws under active in-the-wild exploitation.

Zero Quieting

No vulnerability is ever suppressed or withheld from the public defense community. Full transparency guaranteed.

Outbound Disclosure to Product Vendors

When BreachModal’s adversarial intelligence, red team researchers, or autonomous agent security audits uncover a vulnerability in a third-party product or service, our objective is rapid, coordinated remediation. We treat vulnerability disclosure not as an ambush, but as an urgent, disciplined engineering sprint to safeguard users before weaponization occurs.

The Coordinated Disclosure Lifecycle

Chronological Escalation Path
Day 0

Discovery, Verification & Initial Vendor Outreach

Confidential

BreachModal's Threat Intelligence or Adversarial Simulation team validates a technical proof-of-concept (PoC), isolates the vulnerability class (CWE), and models CVSS v4.0 severity. We initiate confidential outreach to the vendor's designated security channel (RFC 9116 security.txt, PSIRT portal, or direct encrypted email to security@, support@, info@, and secure@vendor.com).

Defensive Telemetry Delivery: Simultaneous to vendor transmission, defensive containment signatures and virtual patch telemetry are distributed to BreachModal customers through encrypted threat feed channels without disclosing weaponizable PoC details.
Day 5

Secondary Escalation Window

Follow-Up

If the vendor fails to acknowledge receipt or assign a primary response engineer within five (5) business days, BreachModal initiates a second formal communication attempt through alternate vendor leadership, regional technical liaisons, and certified communications channels.

Defensive Telemetry Delivery: Customer telemetry monitoring is elevated to heightened alert status to detect potential third-party probing or independent rediscovery.
Day 10

Intermediary & CERT Coordination

Escalation

If the vendor remains uncontactable or non-responsive after an additional five (5) business days following our second notice, BreachModal engages trusted coordination intermediaries—including the CERT Coordination Center (CERT/CC), CISA's Vulnerability Coordination team, or relevant national CSIRTs—to establish secure dialogue.

Defensive Telemetry Delivery: Defensive firewall, WAF, and runtime agent rules are reviewed and updated against emerging adversary scanning patterns.
Day 15

Public Defense Advisory Threshold

Defensive Threshold

If all reasonable, verified channels to reach the vendor have been completely exhausted without response, BreachModal may issue a limited public security advisory fifteen (15) business days following initial contact. This advisory focuses strictly on defensive indicators, anomalous telemetry signatures, and environmental workarounds to empower the security community to protect users.

Defensive Telemetry Delivery: Hardened detection playbooks are provided to enterprise defense teams and SOC operators.
Day 120

Standard Remediation & Coordinated Release

Target Resolution

Once valid receipt is established, BreachModal provides the vendor a four-month (120 calendar days) coordinated remediation window to engineer, QA, and distribute a permanent security patch. Upon patch deployment—or if the deadline lapses without responsive engagement or verifiable remediation justification—BreachModal publishes an official coordinated advisory with mitigation guidance.

Defensive Telemetry Delivery: BreachModal verifies vendor patch integrity and facilitates seamless customer migration from temporary filters to the vendor's official upstream release.

Initial Transmission Protocol

First attempts at vendor notification are routed through any verified security contact or formal mechanism listed on the vendor website (such as an RFC 9116 /.well-known/security.txt or certified Bug Bounty / VDP portal).

If no dedicated vulnerability channel is specified, BreachModal securely transmits an encrypted advisory package to security@, secure@, support@, and info@company.com containing reproducible findings, technical analysis, and mitigation recommendations.

Unpatchable Flaws & Anti-Quieting

If a product vendor is unable to, or explicitly chooses not to, patch a reported security flaw, BreachModal will offer to work with that vendor to publicly disclose the flaw alongside verified, effective defensive workarounds.

In no circumstances will an identified vulnerability be "kept quiet" because a product vendor prefers to suppress it. To foster industry accountability, BreachModal publishes a factual, itemized summary of our communications with the vendor alongside our advisory.

Official Advisory Registry

Authentic BreachModal Advisories

BreachModal formally and publicly releases its security advisories on our canonical website. Only advisories listed on breachmodal.com should be considered official BreachModal advisories. We do not release unverified threat claims via third-party channels.
